"WHAT IS RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN?"
Responsive web design is when the website coding reads the screen size and orientation sent by the browser and automatically adjusts fonts, images and layout to fit the screen. Website technology today allows for real-time responsive display of your website without having to redirect the visitor to a “mobile-friendly” version. CSS or Cascading Style Sheets dictate the display and can even show or hide certain parts of your website depending on configuration.
Did you know that according to statista.com, web traffic across the globe is projected to increase by as much as seven times by 2021? They also reported that nearly 50% of all web traffic was via a mobile device as of the beginning of 2017.
Social networking and media are huge contributors to these numbers. Facebook alone had over 1.7 billion monthly active users (MAU) in the last quarter of 2017. “Monthly active users” are defined as someone what has logged in at least once in the last 30 days.
Mobile apps are by definition designed for mobile usage, but not all websites are and that’s where some companies are missing out on business opportunities. If your external marketing avenues are working as they should, you’re getting lots of visits to your website from apps, social media and other referrers that are mostly if not exclusively, initiated via mobile devices.
What happens when those mobile visitors hit your site? Are they greeted with a migraine-inducing 3000 word essay in negative .02 font? Or are they welcomed with a clear path to get their question answered, contact you or make a purchase?
If you answered the latter, congratulations! If not, it’s time to GIVE US A CALL.
