Securing your Site and Ranking for 2017
How to get SSL Status on you Site
You've probably heard by now of a change Google has made effective October 2017. Users of the Google Chrome browser will begin seeing a “Connection Not Secure” message on websites that do not have SSL installed on their site. Mozilla/Firefox users already saw this change some time ago.
Since 2014, Google has been encouraging website owners and creators to convert their sites to a secure site, especially those that take customer information such as names, addresses and credit card numbers. A secure site gives visitors assurance that their data is safe and Google has indicated they are giving search result preference to those sites that have SSL installed.
I am strongly encouraging all of my new and current customers to switch to an SSL encrypted site for security reasons as well as the potential for increased search engine ranking results. SSL encryption requires the purchase of an SSL Certificate and costs $99/yr. I will install the certificate on your site and make sure everything continues to function as normal.
Please let me know if you’d like me to make your site more secure and I can get the process started.
